Inspired by Psalm 103:4, which reminds us that God "redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion," our mission is simple, we care.At We Care Chicago, we are called to ignite hope and honor the dignity of those society too often overlooks. With every care package, we deliver not just essentials but a message of compassion, connection, and care. Together, we look toward a future where every person is seen, every voice is valued, and the spirit of care binds our city as one.
How We Started
We Care Chicago was born from a simple but urgent need: to bring comfort to those experiencing homelessness during Chicago’s harsh winters. With every icy gust of wind, someone in our city is outside without the essentials to face the cold. Moved by compassion, we stepped forward to show care, dignity, and warmth to our neighbors who need it most.
2024-2025
Care Package Initiative
In 2025, we raised $1,500 for our care packages. Because of your generosity, we were able to include coffee gift cards for a warm drink in the frigid air, provide essential men’s and women’s hygiene supplies, add new wool socks, gloves, and winter hats, and pack enough food to sustain our neighbors for three days. We are excited to continue this work of love with your support as we care for our city and our communities.
